These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Kartaz apps: KartazTV for Apple TV and iPad (the game host) and Kartaz for iPhone (the player companion app), together "the Apps", made by DND Technologies ("we", "us"). They also cover your use of our website, kartaz.app. By downloading, installing, or using the Apps, or by using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Apps or the website.

1. Your license to use Kartaz

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Apps on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, and as permitted by the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement and any Family Sharing rules of the App Store. This license is for your own personal, non-commercial entertainment. We retain all rights, title, and interest in the Apps, including all software, artwork, card designs, audio, and the Kartaz name and logo.

2. Purchases, Family Sharing, and refunds

The phone player app is free. Each game on the host (Lotería, La Viuda, and Blackjack) and the Kartaz Complete bundle are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. A free daily demo lets you try each game before buying.

3. Virtual chips and no real-money gambling

Chips and coins in Kartaz are virtual play money with no real-world value. They cannot be bought for cash, sold, cashed out, redeemed, or exchanged for anything of value. Kartaz simulates card games such as blackjack for entertainment only. Kartaz is not gambling and offers no opportunity to win real money or prizes. Any "winnings" exist only inside the game.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Names you enter and host etiquette

When you join a table you choose a display name, which the host shares with the other phones on your local network so everyone can see who is playing. You are responsible for the name you enter and for keeping it appropriate for the people in the room. The host controls the table and may remove a player from a game. As described in our Privacy Policy, this information travels only over your local Wi-Fi and is never sent to us.

6. Age and suitability

Kartaz includes simulated gambling (card games played with virtual chips) and is intended for users 18 and older, consistent with its App Store age rating. The Apps are not directed to children. If you let younger family members play, you do so as the responsible adult and under your supervision.

Simulated gambling means exactly that: the chips, bankrolls, and lives in the Apps have no monetary value. There is no real-money wagering, no way to purchase chips, and no way to cash anything out. The age rating reflects the theme of the games, not any real gambling functionality.

7. Third-party services

Kartaz can optionally connect to Apple Music on the host so the table can queue songs. That feature requires your own Apple Music subscription and is governed by Apple's Media Services terms. The Apps are distributed through the Apple App Store and your use is also subject to Apple's terms. The Apps also use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to collect anonymous, aggregate usage signals that contain no personal data, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you join the Android waitlist on our website, the email you submit is handled by Kit (ConvertKit), our email provider, solely to notify you when Kartaz for Android ships; you can unsubscribe at any time. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

8. Availability and updates

Kartaz is designed to run fully offline over your local Wi-Fi, so it does not depend on our servers and we make no uptime guarantee. We may update, change, or discontinue features of the Apps over time. App updates are delivered through the App Store.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Apps are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Apps will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or network.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DND Technologies will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Apps. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Apps will not exceed the amount you paid for the App giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. It ends automatically if you breach these Terms, and you may end it at any time by deleting the Apps. On termination, the rights granted to you here stop, but the sections that by their nature should survive (for example, ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) continue to apply.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, note the change in the Apps. Your continued use of the Apps after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which DND Technologies is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer protection rights you have under the mandatory law of your country of residence.

14. Apple App Store terms

Because the Apps are distributed through the Apple App Store, the following also apply:
